The Kebbi State Association of Hunters has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris for re-election in 2027, pledging to mobilise support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidates.
The endorsement was made on Saturday during a gathering of members of the association drawn from the 21 local government areas of Kebbi State at the Haliru Audu Stadium in Birnin Kebbi.
Speaking at the event, Governor Idris urged the hunters to remain committed to the APC and support the party’s candidates at all levels during the 2027 general elections.
“I am appealing to all of you to vote for Mr President, the Kebbi State Governor and all APC candidates across the board,” the governor said.
Idris said his administration had made progress across various sectors of the state, while also commending the Federal Government for what he described as improvements in the country’s economic growth.
The governor further urged members of the association not to be distracted by opposition campaigns, saying his administration remained focused on delivering development and improving the welfare of the people of Kebbi.
Also speaking, Nigeria’s Ambassador to Türkiye and former Kebbi State Governor, Saidu Usman Nasamu Dakingari, commended the hunters for organising the gathering and urged them to remain supportive of APC-led governments at the federal and state levels.
The Patron of the Hunters Association and member representing Birnin Kebbi North Constituency in the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Babangida Aminu Guluma, expressed satisfaction with the turnout and assured Governor Idris of the association’s continued support.
Similarly, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Power and Political Matters, Kabir Sani-Giant, urged the hunters to intensify their mobilisation efforts to ensure victory for the APC in the 2027 elections.
The State Chairman of the Hunters Association, Bashir Muge, thanked Governor Idris for his support for the association and reaffirmed its commitment to the APC.
“We have no other party than the APC. We have already endorsed you and Mr President,” Muge declared.
The event also featured displays of traditional hunting skills and tactics, including tracking, trapping and combat techniques, highlighting the association’s cultural heritage and its readiness to contribute to security efforts in the state.
