Deputy Commandant of Corps (DCC) Bakare Rafiu, Head of the Agro Rangers Unit of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ondo State Command, has been appointed the new Second-in-Command of the command.

The appointment followed the retirement of DCC Oseni Adeyemo, who previously occupied the position.

Speaking at the command’s muster parade, the State Commandant, Commandant Ibiloye, disclosed that Bakare emerged after a careful selection process aimed at ensuring effective leadership and continuity in the command.

Ibiloye charged personnel to uphold professionalism, discipline and synergy, particularly as the command prepares for the forthcoming Osun State gubernatorial election.

The Commandant warned officers against conduct capable of undermining the credibility of the Corps, saying personnel found operating below the expected standard would face appropriate action.

He also conveyed the strong directive of the Commandant General, urging officers deployed for the electoral assignment to remain professional, impartial and respectful of the fundamental rights of all citizens throughout the electoral process.

According to him, the success of the election would depend largely on the discipline, neutrality and professionalism of security personnel deployed to maintain peace and order.

The muster parade ended with prayers, followed by the cutting of a birthday cake and group photographs with personnel celebrating their birthdays in August.
