IMO NSCDC COMMANDANT, MATHEW OVYE CHARGES HIS PERSONNEL TO EXHIBIT DISPLINE IMO STATE COMM

The State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) lmo state command, Commandant Mathew Sunday Ovye has charged officers and men of his command to always exhibit a high level of discipline as they discharge their duties.

This he made known to them during an emergency expanded management meeting at the state headquarters of the command on Wednesday 7th of August, 2024.

It was a meeting that featured the state commandant (The convener), the command’s 2ic, all head of Departments, Units and Sections.

The State Commandant in his opening remarks acknowledged the presence of his lieutenants while stating the importance of unity reigning supreme among officers and men of his command, adding that. *united we stand and divided we fall*

Ventilating on the discipline of the command, *Mr. Ovye* said that he will never condone or even give room for indiscipline, be it misconduct or gross misconduct, stressing tha act of forcing strict discipline in his command can not be compromised.

According to the service chief, “NSCDC is a regimented security outfit that must maintain a very strict control over officers and men of the Corps as such a high level of alluring discipline”.

The head of Departments, Units, and Sections were directed by the Commandant to be more committed and dedicated in discharging their duties.

*Mr. Ovye* further instructed his men to emulate the doggedness of the Commandant General of NSCDC, *Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi mni OFR* who has given the Corps a direction through his hard work and smart work, acknowledging the number 1 citizen of NSCDC for *Rejigging, revamping and resuscitating* the Corps.

He also advised his subordinates to eschew slandering and focus on the corp’s mandate, as he made it clear to the gorgeted officers who are heading departments to always supervise the activities of units and Sections under their departments.

The Security Luminary in his conclusion outlined some of the *Do’s and Don’t’s* of the job such as 

* Do not come to work late or even go before the time.

  • Always ensure that your office register and other form of registers are up to date.

Head of Servicom and Provost Units must be proactive in their duties.

* Give compliments (salute) to your superior 

* Do not involve yourself in any form of crime and criminality such as illegal oil bunkering, illegal duties, stealing etc.

* Do not drink alcoholic liquor while on duty.

*-* Always respect and do not abuse the right of citizens 

*Always dress neat and smart on uniform.

* Issue query to any involved in the act of misconduct or gross misconduct according to public service rule (PSR), etc.
