Prophet Itunu Onadeko, fiancé of late Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba, has alleged that the actress died at a police station in Ikorodu, Lagos State, contradicting widespread reports that linked her death to complications arising from her previous battle with breast cancer.

Speaking during an interview with Celestial Reality Check, the media investigative unit of the Celestial Church of Christ, Onadeko said he received a telephone call around midnight from an unidentified individual informing him that the actress had died in a police station. He stated that he could not identify the specific station involved but subsequently reported himself at a nearby police facility.

According to him, Osoba had gone to visit a woman identified as Mrs. Kehinde Osoba shortly before her death. He explained that a hairdresser with whom the actress had been staying accompanied her on the visit, adding that they remained in contact until news of her death emerged.

The cleric dismissed claims that breast cancer caused the actress’s death, noting that although Osoba had previously undergone surgery and treatment for the illness, she had recovered and resumed her normal activities. He also rejected allegations that she was poisoned or subjected to any form of abuse before her death.

Onadeko further denied rumours that he had access to donations raised for Osoba’s medical treatment or that the funds were used for church projects. He maintained that all financial support received for her treatment was paid directly to the actress and that he never controlled her accounts. He also refuted allegations that she was prevented from driving or restricted in her movements.

The prophet additionally denied reports that Osoba was maltreated during their relationship, insisting that they maintained a cordial relationship and were making plans to get married. While acknowledging that the actress struggled with smoking, he said he encouraged her to quit. As of the time of this report, the exact circumstances surrounding Osoba’s death had not been independently verified, and no official cause of death had been publicly confirmed. The actress, who died at the age of 40, is scheduled to be buried on August 13, 2026, in Iperu-Remo, Ogun State.
