Good morning, Your Excellencies, distinguished guests, colleagues, and esteemed friends.

​It is a profound honor to stand before you today representing my principal, His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, at this crucial Annual Security Summit and Award. On his behalf, and by his express direction, I also have the distinct privilege of presenting a landmark literary contribution to our national discourse.

​We gather at a defining moment in our national history—a time that demands a reaffirmation of our shared commitment to security, unity, and progress. I extend the warmest regards of His Excellency to our co-hosts, organizers, and our distinguished speakers:

Today, it is my exceptional duty to formally present the book titled, ‘The Defender of the Nation: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Three-Year Onslaught Against Insecurity.’

​I want to take a moment to highly commend and acknowledge the author, Isiaka Mustapha, for his painstaking research, intellectual depth, and patriotism in documenting this critical era. This book is more than a chronicle of military and strategic operations; it is a testament to resilience. It vividly captures the bold leadership, structural reforms, and unwavering political will of Mr. President in confronting the hydra-headed challenges of insecurity across our nation.

​As a state, Gombe fully aligns itself with the core tenets of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. We recognize that national security is the foundational bedrock upon which the administration’s promises of economic revitalization, social equity, and prosperity are built. Without a secure nation, there can be no sustained development. Gombe State stands hand-in-hand with the Federal Government and the strategic defense structures led by the Honorable Minister to ensure that the vision of a safe, united, and thriving Nigeria is fully realized.

As we unveil this publication today, I am incredibly proud to highlight how Gombe State is actively operationalizing these federal objectives with remarkable, measurable results.

​In recent national security evaluations, Gombe State has consistently been ranked as the safest and most peaceful state in the Northeast geopolitical zone, and one of the top-tier most peaceful states nationwide.

​This improved security ranking is neither an accident nor a mere stroke of luck. It is the direct dividend of His Excellency’s deliberate, data-driven, and proactive governance. While surrounded by complex regional security dynamics, Gombe has carved out an oasis of stability. This success serves as empirical proof that when local political will aligns perfectly with federal defense frameworks—and is supported by capable industry professionals—total peace is achievable.

To sustain this enviable ranking and advance the vision of the Renewed Hope Agenda, Gombe State formally commits to these four continuous pillars of action:

​Investing in Tech-Driven Defense and Training:

Gombe State is actively supporting the adoption of modern intelligence-gathering technologies and sustained capacity building for personnel to preempt, rather than just react to, emerging threats.

​Fiscal Responsibility and Transparent Governance: We recognize that security funding must be managed with absolute transparency and accountability to maximize operational readiness and inspire public confidence.

On behalf of His Excellency, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, I want to express our deepest gratitude to the author, Isiaka Mustapha, to our sister agency chiefs, to our private sector specialists, and to the gallant men and women of our security services who work tirelessly, often at great personal cost, to secure our communities.
