Commandant Igwebuike was seen alongside other security chiefs in the Lokoja capital of the state, its suburbs, and other local government areas. They were conducting an on-the-spot assessment of the security situation during the kickoff of the nationwide protest yesterday.
”We could not afford the risk of a breakdown of law and order in Kogi state or elsewhere, as the case may be. As you are already aware, the NSCDC is duty-bound by its mandate to ensure the provision of security concerning lives and property, particularly Critical Assets of the Government.
“Amidst the chaos and uncertainty that often accompany a protest of this type, we cannot afford the risk of insecurity in Kogi state due to its strategic location, which borders almost ten states of the federation. Particularly as it concerns its commercial activities, no sacrifice is too big to make in this circumstance, and the NSCDC, as a leading paramilitary force, would leave no stone unturned to sustain state security and peace.”
”I will urge all the residents in the state to promptly report any form of unethical plot to cause mayhem during the protest to NSCDC or any other security agency.” said Igwebuike.
