Defence Ministry Seeks Stronger Collaboration with JTF Sector 2 to Boost Northeast Security Operations

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defence, Mr Richard Pheelangwah, has received Brigadier General BMC Martins, Commander of Sector 2, Joint Task Force (North East), on a courtesy visit at the Ministry of Defence, Ship House, Abuja.

The visit provided an opportunity for both parties to deliberate on issues relating to ongoing security operations in the North East, with particular emphasis on improving coordination and operational efficiency in the field.

Discussions also focused on strengthening strategic collaboration between the Ministry and frontline security formations, with the aim of enhancing efforts to sustain peace, stability, and improved security outcomes in the region and across the country.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening inter-agency cooperation as part of broader national security objectives, while expressing confidence that sustained synergy would contribute significantly to restoring lasting peace in affected areas.
