Retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, Wilson Inalegwu, on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa (rtd), in Abuja, where both security figures discussed issues relating to national security and inter-agency collaboration.
The visit, which took place at the Defence Ministry headquarters, was described as part of ongoing consultations among senior retired and serving security stakeholders aimed at strengthening peace, stability, and coordinated security operations across the country. Sources close to the meeting said discussions focused on strategies for improving intelligence sharing and community-based security initiatives.
Speaking shortly after the meeting, Inalegwu commended the leadership style and commitment of General Musa toward addressing the nation’s security challenges. He noted that the efforts of the Armed Forces and other security agencies have continued to yield positive results in the fight against terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, and other criminal activities.
The retired police chief also emphasized the need for sustained synergy among security institutions, stressing that effective collaboration remains vital to tackling emerging threats in different parts of the country. He urged citizens to continue supporting security agencies with timely and credible information capable of assisting ongoing operations.
In his remarks, General Musa appreciated the visit and acknowledged the contributions of retired senior officers to national development and security reforms. He reaffirmed the commitment of the Defence Ministry and the Armed Forces to protecting lives and property while sustaining efforts aimed at restoring lasting peace and national unity across Nigeria.
