NSCDC Sokoto Honours VIP Protection Course Participants


The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Sokoto State Command has honoured participants of the VIP/Executive Protection and Management Course for Instructors, with the State Commandant, CC E.A. Ajayi, assuring personnel of continuous support to enhance national security.
The ceremony followed the directive of the Commandant General aimed at strengthening the nation’s security architecture, particularly in the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure and the safeguarding of lives and property in Sokoto State.
Speaking during a strategic briefing held on Thursday, May 14, 2026, the State Commandant urged officers to rededicate themselves to a more proactive, effective and result-oriented security approach across the state.
While delivering the message of the Commandant General of the Corps, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, Ajayi stressed the need for greater commitment, discipline, professionalism and dedication among personnel, noting that national expectations of the Corps had increased significantly following its expanded mandate.
He also highlighted the importance of professionalism, patriotism, inter-agency collaboration and cooperation, describing them as critical elements for effective security operations under the new directives.
The State Commandant later presented certificates to participants of the VIP/Executive Protection and Management Course for Instructors and commended them for their resilience and outstanding performance during the five-day intensive training held at the Centre for Civil Defence Studies, Sauka, Abuja, from May 4 to May 9, 2026.
Ajayi charged the officers to renew their commitment to duty and intensify efforts toward delivering impactful service to both the state and the nation. He further emphasised the need for unwavering professionalism in carrying out the statutory responsibilities of the Corps.
According to him, the evolving security landscape requires personnel to remain vigilant, proactive and fully committed to protecting lives and the well-being of citizens. He added that continuous capacity building remains essential in addressing emerging security challenges and reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to professional development and operational excellence.
The Commandant also urged the trained officers to serve as resource persons within the Command by sharing the knowledge acquired with other personnel to strengthen the operational capacity of the Corps across the state.
He further encouraged officers and men of the Corps to uphold the core values of integrity, discipline and selfless service, expressing confidence that the NSCDC would continue to contribute significantly to peace, stability, unity and security in Sokoto State and the country at large.
The Sokoto State Command reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property through improved synergy, strategic operations and enhanced protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure aimed at reducing crime and criminality across the state.
