Federal Fire Service to Receive Institutional Award at 2026 PSM Summit, CGF Samuel Adeyemi Olumode to Address Conference on Fire Service Reforms

The Federal Fire Service is set to be honoured with an institutional award at the 2026 People’s Security Monitor (PSM) Security Conference and Awards Summit in recognition of its reforms, improved emergency response systems, and enhanced public safety operations across Nigeria.

The award will be presented during the annual conference scheduled to hold in Abuja, an event expected to attract top government officials, security chiefs, traditional rulers, and policy experts from across the country.

According to the organisers, the Federal Fire Service earned the recognition for its strengthened emergency preparedness systems, improved fire prevention strategies, and upgraded operational efficiency in safeguarding lives and property nationwide.

The Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service, Samuel Adeyemi Olumode, will deliver a keynote address at the conference, where he is expected to speak on the “revolutionary changes in fire service delivery in Nigeria,” including modernization initiatives, response-time improvements, and expanded public safety interventions.

He will also highlight ongoing reforms aimed at repositioning the Service through technology-driven operations, enhanced personnel training, and stronger inter-agency collaboration in emergency management.

In addition, a book on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be publicly presented at the event. The publication, titled “The Defender of the Nation: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Three-Year Onslaught Against Insecurity, His Tough Decisions, Sacrifices, and Gains,” examines Nigeria’s security landscape, policy responses, and inter-agency coordination in addressing national security challenges.

The 21-chapter book is authored by Isiaka Mustapha and forms a key highlight of the conference programme.

The event, endorsed by the Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs and the Nigeria Union of Journalists, is scheduled for Thursday, June 4, 2026, at the auditorium of the Nigeria National Merit Award House under the chief guest speakership of General Christopher Musa (Rtd).

Organisers said the summit will feature high-level policy discussions, goodwill messages, awards presentations, the public book launch, and strategic conversations on strengthening institutional capacity for national security and emergency response in Nigeria.
