The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Shehu Mohammed, on Wednesday received Mrs. Moremi Soyinka-Onijala during a courtesy visit, underscoring the Corps’ continued engagement with key stakeholders connected to its institutional history.
Mrs. Soyinka-Onijala is the daughter of Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka, widely recognised for his foundational role in the establishment and early leadership of the Corps.
The Corps Marshal acknowledged Professor Soyinka’s enduring contributions to road safety administration in Nigeria, noting that his leadership as the pioneer Board Chairman helped to shape the strategic direction and operational framework of the organisation.
He further stated that the visit provided an opportunity to reflect on the Corps’ progress over the years and to reinforce its commitment to the ideals of discipline, safety consciousness, and public service.
Mrs. Soyinka-Onijala commended the Corps for sustaining the vision established at its inception, while encouraging continued efforts towards improving road safety standards across the country.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of preserving institutional heritage and strengthening collaboration aimed at advancing safer road use practices nationwide.
