Guards Brigade Commander Strengthens Security Coordination with NSCDC in Nasarawa


The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nasarawa State Command, Commandant Brah Samson Umoru, on Tuesday, 28 April 2026, received the Commanding Officer of the Guards Brigade, Nigerian Army, Keffi, Lt. Col. M. S. Jibrin, during an unscheduled but strategic visit to the Command Headquarters in Lafia.
The visit highlighted the growing inter agency collaboration among security organisations in the state. It provided a platform for both commanders to deliberate on critical security concerns and strengthen joint efforts aimed at combating crime and protecting lives as well as critical national assets across Nasarawa State.
In his remarks, Lt. Col. Jibrin commended the NSCDC for its sustained commitment to maintaining peace and security, particularly in safeguarding critical infrastructure and supporting other security agencies. He stressed the need for continuous cooperation among security stakeholders to effectively address evolving threats.
In response, Commandant Umoru expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as a reflection of the strong working relationship between the Nigerian Army and the NSCDC. He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to deepening collaboration with the military and other security agencies in ensuring improved safety and stability in the state.
The engagement further reinforced both agencies’ commitment to intelligence sharing, joint operations, and proactive strategies in addressing insecurity within Nasarawa State and beyond.
The NSCDC Nasarawa State Command remains committed to its statutory responsibility of protecting critical national assets and infrastructure, while strengthening partnerships that support peace, stability, and sustainable development.
