The Gombe State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has graduated 80 newly trained private guards drawn from ten licensed Private Guard Companies operating within the state, following the successful completion of a rigorous two week training programme.
The participating companies include A. Koli Security Limited, Hardware Security Services, Pama Global Security Limited, Al Ali Security Services, Birbo International Security Limited, Kings Guard Security Limited, Spitech Security Limited, Profile Security Limited, Jafi Security Services, and Spider Web Security Limited.
The training exercise, held at the Federal Secretariat in Gombe, was conducted in accordance with the statutory mandate of the Corps as provided under the NSCDC Act 2003 (as amended), which empowers the organisation to license, train, monitor, and supervise Private Guard Companies across Nigeria. The programme was carried out under the leadership of the State Commandant, Commandant Jibrin Idris.
Addressing participants during the passing out parade, Commandant Idris stated that the event represented more than a ceremonial occasion. He described it as a demonstration of professionalism, institutional partnership, and the Corps’ sustained commitment to strengthening standards within the private security sector as a vital component of the national security framework.
He commended the graduates for their discipline, resilience, and dedication throughout the intensive training, which covered physical drills, unarmed combat, ethics and professional conduct, intelligence gathering, first aid, fire safety, and the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure.
The Commandant congratulated the 80 graduates and urged them to uphold the highest standards of the profession. He emphasised their responsibility as frontline contributors to the protection of lives, property, public institutions, and critical infrastructure, calling on them to discharge their duties with discipline, integrity, and professionalism.
He further reiterated the Corps’ commitment to sanitising and professionalising the private security industry in Gombe State through continuous training, regulatory compliance, and strategic collaboration with licensed operators. He also warned against illegal security operations, assuring that the Command would sustain enforcement efforts to uphold established standards.
The event was attended by Heads of Departments, Unit Heads, representatives of the participating Private Guard Companies, and other invited stakeholders.
