The Nigerian Army has laid to rest Brigadier General Oseni Braimah and several soldiers who were killed by terrorists in Benisheikh, Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State.
In a statement, the Army described the burial ceremony, held on Wednesday at the Maimalari Cantonment Cemetery in Maiduguri, as one marked by deep sorrow, honour, and reflection. The late Brigadier General was buried alongside Captain Azubuike Michael Esimai and other personnel who died in the line of duty.
The solemn event drew the attendance of key national and military figures, including Governor Babagana Zulum, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, and the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, alongside other senior officers.
According to the Army, the fallen officers and soldiers were accorded full military honours in recognition of their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to national security.
The statement emphasised that their deaths underscore the heavy toll borne daily by members of the armed forces in the ongoing effort to safeguard Nigeria’s peace, unity, and territorial integrity.
