The newly deployed Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kwara State Command, CC Abbas Nda Mohammed, has pledged a more robust, intelligence-driven, and aggressive approach to tackling insecurity and protecting lives and critical national assets across the state.
Speaking during a media engagement with journalists in Ilorin on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, Commandant Abbas stated that his administration would be anchored on intelligence-led operations and proactive community engagement aimed at strengthening the state’s internal security framework.
He emphasized that crime would not be tolerated under his leadership and has therefore directed all tactical unit heads to intensify 24-hour surveillance and patrol operations across strategic and vulnerable locations. This, he noted, will enhance operational visibility, improve response capacity, and deter criminal activities.
The Commandant also issued a stern warning to criminal elements, stressing that Kwara State will not serve as a safe haven for any form of criminality. He affirmed that the Command is fully prepared to deploy all lawful measures to detect, prevent, and prosecute offenders in accordance with the law.
Reaffirming the importance of synergy in modern security management, CC Abbas assured that the Command will strengthen collaboration with sister security agencies, traditional institutions, community leaders, and other critical stakeholders in addressing evolving security challenges.
He further reiterated the Command’s commitment to professionalism, discipline, and efficient service delivery, while urging residents of Kwara State to remain vigilant and support security agencies by providing timely, accurate, and credible information to the appropriate authorities.
