The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nasarawa State Command, has deployed 1,138 personnel across the State to ensure a peaceful, safe, and incident-free Easter celebration.
The State Commandant, Comdt. Brah Samson Umoru, disclosed this at the Command Headquarters in Lafia, stating that the deployment is part of proactive strategies to safeguard lives and property before, during, and after the festive period.
Personnel have been strategically stationed at churches, recreational centres, highways, motor parks, and other public spaces expected to attract large gatherings. The operation will involve intensive patrols, surveillance, intelligence gathering, and rapid response mechanisms to tackle any security threat that may arise.
Comdt. Umoru emphasized that the NSCDC will continue to collaborate with other security agencies to maintain law and order across the State. He urged Christian faithful to observe the sacred period in reflection of the teachings of Jesus Christ and apply these lessons in their daily lives for the betterment of society.
He also called on residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and credible information to aid in crime prevention and detection.
The Commandant reassured the people of Nasarawa State of the Corps’ unwavering commitment to protecting critical national assets, infrastructure, agro-allied investments, mineral resources, and lives and property, ensuring a secure environment for all during the Easter festivities.
Residents are therefore encouraged to carry out their lawful activities without fear, as adequate security measures have been put in place to guarantee a peaceful celebration.
