The Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), under the leadership of Commandant Remilekun Omolade Ekundayo, MLCJ, mSPSP, has deployed 2,772 operational personnel across the state to ensure a safe, peaceful, and hitch-free Easter celebration.
The deployment, which spans the period before, during, and after the festivities, is aimed at strengthening security presence and safeguarding lives, property, and critical national assets across all twenty (20) Local Government Areas of Ogun State.
Addressing officers and men at the State Command Headquarters, the Commandant directed comprehensive operational coverage of key locations, including churches and other worship centres, recreational and event centres, critical national assets and infrastructure, as well as identified flashpoints across the state.
She stressed the need for heightened vigilance, professionalism, and intelligence-driven operations, urging personnel to maintain a high level of alertness and ensure effective surveillance throughout the festive period.
Commandant Ekundayo further charged officers to demonstrate courtesy, discipline, and respect for human rights in their interactions with the public, noting that their conduct must reflect the core values and mandate of the Corps.
She reassured residents of Ogun State of the Corps’ unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property, while warning that the Command will deal decisively with criminals, vandals, and other miscreants who may attempt to disrupt the peace in the state.
The Commandant also extended her Easter greetings to Christians and all residents of Ogun State, wishing them a peaceful and fulfilling celebration, and urged the public to remain law-abiding and cooperate with security agencies to ensure a hitch-free festivity.
