NSCDC Unveils Five-Year Strategic Plan, Distributes Equipment to Boost Tech-Driven Operations

The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has unveiled a comprehensive five-year strategic roadmap aimed at strengthening the Corps’ capacity for effective service delivery and greater national impact.
The roadmap was presented during a high-level strategic meeting with senior officers at the start of his second tenure, outlining a clear vision for a more professional, innovative, and responsive organisation.
Reflecting on his first term in office, Audi highlighted several key initiatives introduced to expand the Corps’ operational scope and inclusiveness. These include the Female Strike Force, Safe School Initiative, Mining Marshal, and the Special Intelligence Squad, all of which, he said, have significantly enhanced the Corps’ role in critical areas of national security.
He added that his administration placed strong emphasis on staff welfare and institutional reforms, resulting in improved morale and a more structured system for training and career progression within the Corps.
Looking ahead, the NSCDC boss stressed the urgent need to deepen technology-driven operations, noting that modern security challenges require intelligence-led and technologically advanced approaches. He explained that increased adoption of technology would improve efficiency, reduce operational risks, and enhance personnel safety.
In line with this vision, Audi supervised the distribution of operational uniforms, surveillance equipment, and technological tools to commands across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. He said the move is aimed at boosting operational readiness, improving service delivery, and fostering a positive organisational culture within the Corps.
The Commandant General also expressed appreciation to Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his reappointment and continued support for the Corps, particularly in the areas of technological advancement and institutional development.
He reaffirmed that his second tenure would prioritise professionalism, discipline, and accountability, while strengthening public confidence in the NSCDC’s ability to safeguard critical national assets and infrastructure.
The strategic engagement, he noted, reflects a renewed commitment to building a technologically advanced, highly disciplined, and forward-looking Corps capable of addressing Nigeria’s evolving security challenges.
