The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, on Thursday received a delegation from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Nigeria, led by Ambassador Yu Dunhai, during a courtesy visit to the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
The visit provided an opportunity for bilateral engagement, with discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in security, capacity building, and intelligence sharing between Nigeria and China.
During the meeting, the IGP stressed the importance of sustained collaboration with international partners in tackling emerging security threats. He noted that such partnerships are critical to enhancing the operational effectiveness of the Nigeria Police Force.
Disu also highlighted the need for continuous training, technology transfer, and knowledge exchange to improve policing standards and ensure the Force remains responsive to evolving security dynamics.
In his remarks, Ambassador Yu Dunhai reaffirmed China’s commitment to supporting Nigeria’s security architecture through strategic cooperation, particularly in areas of training and modern policing techniques.
The meeting further underscored the longstanding diplomatic relations between both countries, with both sides expressing readiness to deepen collaboration in order to promote peace, stability, and mutual development.
