NSCDC Kwara Commandant Bodinga Unveils Security Strategy for Peaceful Eid-el-Fitr Celebration


In preparation for a peaceful and secure Eid-el-Fitr celebration, the Kwara State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Bala Bawa Bodinga, FCISM, FiCGPA, on Monday, 16 March 2026, convened a strategic meeting with Heads of Departments and Commanders of Tactical Units of the Command.
The meeting, held at Ade Abolurin Hall at the State Command Headquarters in Ilorin, focused on reviewing the existing security architecture and developing a comprehensive operational strategy to ensure a hitch-free Sallah celebration across Kwara State.
During the meeting, Commandant Bodinga directed all Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, and Heads of Tactical and Operational Units to intensify surveillance and visibility patrols across identified flashpoints, Eid prayer grounds, recreational centres, markets, highways, and other public places.
He also emphasized the need for strengthened inter-agency collaboration and enhanced community engagement to improve intelligence gathering and information sharing, with the aim of proactively preventing any potential security threats during the festive period.
The Commandant further instructed that all personnel deployed for the operation must uphold the highest standards of professionalism, respect for human rights, and adopt a community-friendly approach in the discharge of their duties.
The Command reassures the people of Kwara State of its unwavering commitment to the protection of lives, property, and critical national assets, while ensuring a safe and peaceful environment for residents to celebrate the Sallah festivities in harmony.
