The Federal Ministry of Interior is currently holding its 2026 Ministerial Sectoral Retreat in Abuja, bringing together the leadership of the ministry and its agencies to review their performance and set new targets for improved service delivery.
The retreat, themed “Accountable Leadership, Measurable Impacts: Reviewing Results, Renewing Commitments,” provides a platform for senior officials and agency heads to assess their activities and achievements recorded in 2025.
Among the agencies participating in the retreat are the Federal Fire Service, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, the Nigeria Immigration Service, and the Nigeria Correctional Service, all of which play critical roles in maintaining internal security and public safety in the country.
Officials at the retreat are reviewing key policies, operational strategies, and ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening institutional efficiency and improving the delivery of services to Nigerians.
The gathering also serves as an opportunity for the ministry and its agencies to evaluate challenges encountered in the previous year and identify practical solutions for better coordination and performance.
Participants are expected to develop renewed commitments and strategic plans that will enhance accountability, boost operational effectiveness, and support the Federal Government’s broader goal of ensuring safety, security, and efficient public service across Nigeria.
