The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Jigawa State Command, has commissioned a newly constructed Divisional Office in Hadejia Local Government Area, in a move aimed at strengthening security operations at the grassroots level.
The commissioning ceremony, held on Friday, February 13, 2026, represents another strategic step in enhancing the Corps’ operational presence and service delivery across Jigawa State.
The event was conducted on behalf of the Commandant General, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, and was represented by the Zonal Commander, Zone 12, Assistant Commandant General Toyin Abiodun Amos. The State Commandant, Muhammad Kabiru Ingawa, alongside senior officers of the Corps, traditional rulers, government officials, and key stakeholders, attended the ceremony.
Speaking at the event, the representative of the Commandant General stated that the establishment of the new divisional office demonstrates the Corps’ firm commitment to strengthening its operational capacity, improving response time, and safeguarding critical national assets and infrastructure within Hadejia and its surrounding communities.
He noted that the successful completion of the project was made possible through the strong support, cooperation, and goodwill of the host community and Friends of the Corps. He commended community leaders and other well-meaning individuals who contributed morally, materially, and strategically toward the realization of the project.
In his remarks, the State Commandant, Muhammad Kabiru Ingawa, expressed appreciation to the people of Hadejia for their sustained partnership with the Corps. He described the new office as a symbol of trust and collaboration between the NSCDC and the community, emphasizing that effective security management depends largely on cooperation, information sharing, and mutual respect.
He further assured residents that the divisional office will significantly improve intelligence gathering, enhance surveillance operations, and strengthen proactive measures against vandalism, illegal petroleum activities, and other security threats in the area.
The ceremony featured the official ribbon-cutting, inspection of the facility, and goodwill messages from community representatives who reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the Corps in maintaining peace and security.
The Jigawa State Command reiterated that community partnership remains central to the success of its mandate and pledged to continue working closely with stakeholders to promote peace, safety, and sustainable development across the state.
