The opening lecture was delivered by Deputy Superintendent of Fire (DSF) Adefioye, who addressed the importance of discipline in maintaining the integrity and effectiveness of the service. He emphasized that adherence to rules and regulations is central to operational success.
DSF Adefioye highlighted the distinction between minor misconduct and serious misconduct, explaining that both carry consequences that can affect individual careers and the reputation of the service.

He urged personnel to be vigilant and accountable in all their duties.
Expanding further, the speaker cautioned against involvement in illegal schemes or unethical practices, noting that such actions undermine fairness, morale, and organizational integrity.

He stressed that each member has a role in upholding the law and setting a positive example.
The lecture also included practical illustrations of how discipline impacts daily operations and emergency response efficiency. Officers were encouraged to internalize these lessons and apply them consistently in their professional conduct.
Participants actively engaged in the session, asking questions and sharing experiences that reflected the challenges and expectations of maintaining discipline in the field. The interactive format ensured that the lecture was both informative and applicable.
The session concluded with closing remarks from DSF Akinloye, who commended DSF Adefioye for his insightful presentation and praised all participants for their attentiveness and commitment to professional development.
