The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Zone I Abeokuta, held a distinguished decoration ceremony to honour officers recently promoted in recognition of their hard work, commitment, and outstanding service to the Corps.
The ceremony was presided over by the Zonal Commander, ACG Akibo Olusola Michael, FCNA, ACTI, fsi, who personally decorated officers promoted across various ranks within Zone I, Abeokuta.
In his welcome address, the 2IC to the Zonal Commander, CC Adeyinka Akeem, congratulated the officers on their well-deserved promotions and encouraged them to demonstrate exemplary leadership, unwavering dedication, and professionalism in justifying the trust reposed in them.
Delivering his opening remarks, the Zonal Commander emphasized that promotion within the NSCDC reflects discipline, loyalty, diligence, and commitment to duty, and is not a matter of sentiment or coincidence. He urged the decorated officers to see their elevation as a call to higher responsibility, charging them to uphold the core values of the Corps, safeguard critical national assets, maintain peace, and support national security objectives.
The ceremony honoured seventeen (17) officers spanning senior, mid-level, and junior ranks, a milestone that strengthens leadership capacity, enhances command and control, and improves operational effectiveness across Zone I.
Goodwill messages were delivered by invited guests, including DC Kuti Abosede, who congratulated the promoted officers and encouraged them to remain steadfast in their commitment to the ideals and mandate of the Corps.
The vote of thanks was delivered by one of the newly promoted officers, DC Ogundokun Olukayode, who expressed profound appreciation to the Commandant General of the NSCDC, Prof Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, PhD, for his visionary leadership, welfare initiatives, and unwavering dedication to the professional growth of officers and men of the Corps.
DC Ogundokun also thanked ACG Akibo Olusola Michael for his mentorship, fatherly guidance, and exemplary leadership, which have fostered discipline, unity, and operational excellence within Zone I, Abeokuta. He further extended gratitude to the Zonal Management Team, senior officers, invited guests, and all personnel whose efforts contributed to the success of the ceremony.
On behalf of the newly promoted officers, DC Ogundokun pledged renewed loyalty, commitment, and dedication to duty, assuring the leadership of their readiness to uphold the values and mandate of the NSCDC.
The ceremony concluded on a high note, with officers reaffirming their resolve to contribute meaningfully to the growth of the Corps and the strengthening of national security, marking a proud moment in the history of NSCDC Zone I, Abeokuta.
