Strategic Security Talks: Defence and Interior Ministries Align for National Stability

The Honourable Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd), on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in a renewed effort to strengthen strategic collaboration between Nigeria’s defence architecture and internal security institutions.
The high-level engagement underscored the critical need for a unified and coordinated approach to national security—one that simultaneously protects Nigeria’s territorial integrity, secures its borders, and ensures internal stability and public safety.
The meeting was attended by the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, alongside heads of agencies under the Ministry of Interior. Discussions centred on enhancing inter-agency coordination, intelligence sharing, and operational synergy to address emerging and evolving security challenges across the country.
Both ministers reaffirmed their commitment to closer cooperation between defence and internal security agencies, recognising that sustainable peace and national resilience can only be achieved through collective action, shared intelligence, and harmonised operations.
This strengthened partnership aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and reinforces the conviction that when territorial defence and internal security institutions work in unison, Nigeria stands stronger, safer, and unshaken.
