FFS Kebbi Command Decorates 16 Newly Promoted Officers in Colourful Ceremony


The Federal Fire Service (FFS), Kebbi State Command, on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, held a decoration ceremony for sixteen (16) officers recently promoted by the Service Board. The colourful and well-attended event took place at the Command Headquarters in Birnin Kebbi.
The ceremony drew an array of distinguished guests, including the Deputy Controller-General of Fire (rtd), DCGF Bello Ahmed Zagga; the Zonal Controller, Zone J (Sokoto), Muhammad Ibn Umar; heads and representatives of sister security agencies; as well as family members and well-wishers of the promoted officers.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by the State Controller, ACF H. D. Jega, who congratulated the officers on their well-deserved promotions. He charged them to uphold discipline, professionalism, loyalty, and renewed commitment to duty, noting that higher rank comes with greater responsibility and expectations.
The highlight of the event was the decoration of the promoted officers. Eleven (11) officers were elevated from the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Fire I (ASF I) to Deputy Superintendent of Fire (DSF), while five (5) officers were promoted from Inspector of Fire (IF) to Assistant Superintendent of Fire II (ASF II).
Goodwill messages were delivered by heads and representatives of sister security agencies, including CSF Ismail Muhammad Suru, who commended the Federal Fire Service for its steadfast dedication to public safety, effective inter-agency collaboration, and continuous capacity building of its personnel.
In his keynote address, the Zonal Controller, Muhammad Ibn Umar, urged the newly promoted officers to see their elevation not only as recognition of past service, but as a call to higher leadership standards, professionalism, and selfless service to humanity.
