NSCDC EDO COMMAND DEPLOYS 1,200 PERSONNEL FOR CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR SECURITY OPERATIONS

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Edo State Command, has deployed 1,200 officers and men across the three senatorial districts of the state to ensure effective security before, during, and after the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
The State Commandant, Commandant Akintayo Saidi Ayinla, disclosed this while briefing journalists in Benin City, stating that the deployment forms part of the Command’s proactive measures to protect lives, property, and critical national assets throughout the festive period.
According to the Commandant, who spoke through the Public Relations Officer, SC Ogbebor Efosa, the personnel were drawn from various tactical and operational units of the Corps, including the Counter-Terrorism Unit, Anti-Vandal Unit, Female Squad, Agro-Rangers, Commandant Monitoring and Surveillance Team, and Mining Marshals, among others.
He explained that the operatives have been strategically positioned at key locations across the state, including places of worship and prayer grounds, event and recreational centres, major highways, markets, and other vulnerable points, to deter criminal activities and ensure public safety.
The NSCDC Edo State Command reassured residents of its unwavering commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment that will enable citizens and visitors to celebrate the season without fear. The Commandant warned criminal elements to stay away from the state, noting that the Corps will deal decisively with anyone found violating the law.
He further urged members of the public to remain law-abiding and vigilant, and to cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and credible information that would aid in crime prevention and prompt response.
The Command also wished Christians a Merry Christmas and extended warm wishes to all residents of Edo State for a peaceful and prosperous New Year in advance.
