YULETIDE: NSCDC DELTA DEPLOYS 1,293 PERSONNEL TO ENSURE HITCH-FREE FESTIVE CELEBRATIONS

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Delta State Command, has deployed 1,293 officers and men across the state to ensure a peaceful, safe, and hitch-free Christmas and New Year celebration.
The State Commandant, Commandant Chinedu F. Igbo, stated that the deployment is part of proactive measures to guarantee public safety and protect critical infrastructure throughout the Yuletide period.
According to him, the personnel were drawn from various specialised units, including the Armed Squad, Disaster Management Unit, Anti-Vandal Unit, Counter-Terrorism Unit, as well as other tactical and component units. In addition, Rapid Response and Patrol Teams have been activated across the three senatorial districts to provide round-the-clock security before, during, and after the festivities.
The Commandant also disclosed that the newly reorganised Female Squad teams will conduct routine patrols in major towns across the three senatorial districts throughout the Yuletide season.
Renowned for his strong focus on the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI), Commandant Igbo assured that comprehensive measures have been put in place to secure government assets across Delta State. This includes enhanced security around oil and gas installations as well as 24-hour surveillance and patrols of the First and Second Niger Bridges.
Speaking further, the State Commandant encouraged residents of Delta State to celebrate without fear, assuring them that the NSCDC, in collaboration with other security agencies, remains fully committed to preventing and responding to criminal activities. He emphasized that all miscreants and criminal elements will be apprehended and brought to justice as the Command continues to work towards achieving a safe and secure Delta State.
