The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Abia State Command, has deployed 850 officers and men across the state to ensure a peaceful, safe, and hitch-free 2025 Yuletide celebration.
Speaking on the deployment, the State Commandant, Commandant Akinsola, said the operation is aimed at safeguarding lives, public and private property, as well as protecting Critical National Assets and Infrastructure throughout the festive period.
He explained that the Command has put in place adequate security measures to protect residents and visitors, particularly in high-traffic areas such as markets, places of worship, motor parks, and recreational centres.
According to the Commandant, the deployed personnel have been strategically positioned across the state to carry out round-the-clock patrols, surveillance, and intelligence-driven operations, in collaboration with other security agencies, to deter criminal activities and ensure prompt response to any security threat.
Commandant Akinsola further warned criminals and vandals to stay away from Abia State, stressing that the Command would deal decisively with anyone found attempting to breach public peace or sabotage critical infrastructure.
While wishing residents a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year, the State Commandant urged members of the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and useful information that would enhance security throughout the festive season.
