NSCDC Deploys 786 Personnel to Secure Gombe During Christmas and New Year Celebrations

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Gombe State Command, has deployed 786 officers and men across the state to ensure a peaceful, safe and hitch-free Christmas and New Year celebration.
The State Commandant, Commandant Jibrin Idris, said the deployment is part of the Corps’ commitment to protecting lives, property and critical national assets during the festive season. The operation, carried out under Operational Order No. 7/2025, will run from December 25, 2025, to January 1, 2026.
According to the Commandant, all Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, and Tactical Unit Commanders have been directed to provide effective security coverage across Gombe State. Special attention will be given to churches and other places of worship, public areas, and critical public and private infrastructure.
He explained that the personnel are tasked with maintaining law and order, preventing crime, and ensuring the safety of residents and visitors before, during and after the celebrations.
Commandant Idris also stressed the importance of synergy with other security agencies to forestall any potential security threats during the festive period. He assured the public of the Corps’ readiness to respond promptly to any security challenges.
While extending Christmas goodwill to Christians in the state, the Commandant urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by reporting suspicious movements or activities.
“The safety of worshippers, residents and visitors remains our top priority. We call on the public to support security personnel and promptly report any concerns,” he said.
