The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nasarawa State Command, Commandant Brah Samson Umoru, has received a delegation from the Nasarawa Awareness and Civic Orientation Network (NACON) on a courtesy and strategic partnership visit at the Command Headquarters in Lafia, the state capital.
The delegation, led by the Coordinator of NACON, Mr. Labaran Abdullahi, outlined key areas of collaboration aimed at strengthening effective service delivery across the state. He explained that the proposed partnership would focus on civic awareness, community engagement, public sensitization on security consciousness, and the promotion of peaceful coexistence at the grassroots level.
Mr. Abdullahi noted that NACON recognizes the vital role of the NSCDC in the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure, safeguarding lives and property, and maintaining public order. He stressed that sustained collaboration between security agencies and civil society organizations is essential for achieving durable security and socio-economic development.
In his response, Commandant Brah Samson Umoru commended the NACON delegation for their visit and initiative in promoting civic responsibility and public enlightenment. He reaffirmed the Command’s willingness to partner with credible organizations whose objectives align with the Corps’ mandate of crime prevention, community safety, and public sensitization.
The State Commandant assured the delegation that the NSCDC, under his leadership, remains committed to partnerships that will strengthen community policing, deepen public trust, and enhance service delivery to the people of Nasarawa State.
The visit concluded on a cordial note, with both parties expressing a shared commitment to sustained engagement and the development of practical frameworks for effective collaboration in the interest of peace, security, and development in the state.
