The People’s Security Monitor (PSM) has confirmed that the Comptroller General of the Federal Fire Service, CG Samuel Olumode, will be a major speaker at the 2025 People’s Security Monitor Security Summit, scheduled to take place tomorrow at the Nigeria National Merit House, Maitama, Abuja. He is expected to speak on Institutional Reform of the Fire Service, a topic that has drawn national attention as Nigeria continues to modernize its emergency management systems.

Announcing this, the Convener of the Summit and Editor-in-Chief of PSM, Isiaka Mustapha, said CG Olumode’s participation aligns with the summit’s mission to deepen national discourse on public safety, emergency response, and institutional strengthening within Nigeria’s security architecture. He noted that since assuming office, CG Olumode has implemented forward-looking managerial strategies and far-reaching operational reforms that have significantly improved the performance of the Federal Fire Service across the country.

According to Mustapha, the Fire Service under CG Olumode has demonstrated faster response times, stronger collaboration with other emergency agencies, and an expanded nationwide fire-safety education campaign. These efforts, he explained, have contributed to a notable reduction in the frequency and severity of fire incidents in several states. His presentation at the summit is expected to shed more light on the practical reforms needed to boost Nigeria’s overall emergency preparedness and resilience.

Now widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s most credible platforms for national security policy dialogue, the 2025 PSM Security Summit will host security chiefs, government officials, researchers, civil society actors, and strategic partners. This year’s theme focuses on enhancing multi-agency coordination, promoting technology-driven security solutions, and advancing leadership accountability in institutions responsible for protecting lives and property.

Mustapha emphasized that the summit creates a vital space for stakeholders to exchange ideas on pressing issues affecting national stability. He added that CG Olumode’s contribution will be particularly valuable as Nigeria continues to confront evolving security and emergency challenges that require unified and deliberate action.
