Tragedy has struck the families of the students abducted from St. Mary’s Catholic School in Papiri village, Agwara Local Government Area of Niger State, as two parents of the kidnapped children have been confirmed dead.

One of the deceased, identified as Anthony Musa, was said to have suffered a heart attack. The second victim, a woman, has not yet been identified because contact has not been established with her family.

The development was confirmed on Tuesday in Minna by the Catholic Bishop of Kontagora Diocese, Most Rev. Bulus Dauwa Yohanna, through his media aide, Daniel Atori.

Bishop Yohanna, who doubles as the state chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and proprietor of the affected school, expressed deep sorrow over the incident.
