MEET COMMANDANT MUHAMMAD KABIRU INGAWA, THE INDEFATIGABLE 13TH SUBSTANTIVE COMMANDANT OF THE NSCDC, JIGAWA STATE COMMAND

Commandant Muhammad Kabiru Ingawa stands as a distinguished security professional and accomplished administrator whose career reflects excellence, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to national service.

An indigene of Ingawa Local Government Area of Katsina State, he brings to the NSCDC Jigawa State Command a wealth of experience built over decades of service across multiple formations and specialized units of the Corps.

A dynamic and result-driven leader, Commandant Ingawa previously served as the State Commandant of NSCDC Nassarawa State Command, where his tenure was marked by strategic leadership and remarkable administrative efficiency. His professional journey also includes impactful service in Katsina, Jigawa, Delta, and Nassarawa State Commands, as well as the Kaduna Zonal Office, where he headed both the Intelligence and Investigation Unit and the Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit roles that significantly sharpened his expertise in security management, intelligence operations, and organizational ethics.

His redeployment to Jigawa State Command is widely regarded as a homecoming. Having served in the state for about six years earlier in his career, he returns with deep institutional memory and a comprehensive understanding of Jigawa’s security architecture, an advantage that positions him to provide informed, proactive, and community-focused leadership.

Commandant Ingawa is a proud graduate of Bayero University Kano, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He is also an esteemed Associate Member of the Corporate Institute of Administrators. His quest for professional excellence has propelled him through numerous advanced trainings, including foundational studies at the Nigeria Correctional Service Training School in Owerri and further specialization at the Nigeria Correctional Service Staff College in Kaduna.

His exemplary discipline and consistency earned him the prestigious Most Punctual Staff Award from the NSCDC Jigawa State Command in 2013—a recognition that underscores his exceptional dedication to duty and professionalism.

Before joining the Corps, he contributed significantly to national development through his roles at the former DNCR (now NIMC) and the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, where he served as an Assistant Coordinator and played an active role in rural infrastructure development projects.

A devoted family man, Commandant Muhammad Kabiru Ingawa is happily married and blessed with seven children. His leadership, experience, and passion for service continue to inspire confidence as he assumes his role as the 13th Substantive Commandant of the NSCDC Jigawa State Command.
