The newly deployed State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Mohammed Hassan Agalama, has officially assumed duty at the Kano State Command Headquarters following his posting by the Commandant General, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi,. The deployment forms part of ongoing efforts by the Corps to strengthen operational efficiency and enhance internal security across the nation.

In his maiden address to officers and the press, Commandant Agalama expressed profound appreciation to the Commandant General for the confidence reposed in him. He pledged his total commitment to the mandate of the Corps, which includes the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure, disaster management, anti-vandalism operations, and community-based conflict resolution.

He assured residents of Kano State that under his leadership, the Command will intensify efforts to ensure peace, safety, and security of lives and property, in line with the Corps’ vision of promoting a safe environment for socio-economic development.

Commandant Agalama emphasized the importance of inter-agency collaboration, community engagement, intelligence sharing, and proactive response to emerging security threats. He called for the cooperation and support of sister security agencies, traditional institutions, the media, and members of the public to achieve the Corps’ objectives.

Reaffirming the Corps’ zero tolerance for indiscipline, corruption, and unprofessional conduct, the Commandant stated that officers and men under his command will be guided by discipline, integrity, and respect for human rights in the discharge of their duties. He urged all personnel to rededicate themselves to service, maintain high levels of professionalism, and uphold the ideals and values of the Corps at all times.
