The People’s Republic of China has declared strong support for President Bola Tinubu’s administration and cautioned against any foreign interference in Nigeria’s internal affairs, following recent remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump suggesting possible military action.
Speaking at a press briefing in Beijing on Tuesday, China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Mao Ning, reaffirmed Beijing’s opposition to using religion or human rights as excuses to interfere in the domestic matters of sovereign nations.
“As Nigeria’s comprehensive strategic partner, China firmly supports the Nigerian government in leading its people along a development path suited to its national realities,” Mao stated.
