The Nigerian Institute of Mechanical Engineers (NIMechE) held its 38th International Conference and Annual General Meeting on Thursday, 17th October 2025, in Ikeja, Lagos.

The event brought together distinguished professionals, seasoned industry experts, and stakeholders from across various sectors to celebrate excellence, professional growth, and outstanding contributions to the field of Mechanical Engineering.

The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, was represented by the Lagos State Commandant, Mr. Keshinro Adedotun, who attended the ceremony to honour Commandant of Corps Onanuga Idowu Afolabi, MNSE, MNIMechE, on his conferment as a Fellow of the Institute.

Professor Audi reaffirmed his commitment to continuous professional development within the Corps, emphasizing that officers and men of the NSCDC are being encouraged and supported to pursue higher learning and professional recognition, both locally and internationally, to enhance effective service delivery to the nation.
