The State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nasarawa State Command, Commandant Brah Samson Umoru, has inaugurated 300 operatives of the Agro Rangers and the Commandant’s Crack Squad at the Command Headquarters in Lafia, the state capital.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony, Commandant Brah explained that the creation of the two special squads is a strategic initiative aimed at strengthening the Command’s operational efficiency and enhancing its capacity to tackle emerging security challenges across the state.
He stated that the Agro Rangers will focus on protecting farmers, herders, farmlands, and the entire agricultural value chain to promote food security and rural peace, while the Crack Squad will serve as a rapid response unit to address critical security threats.
Charging the newly inaugurated operatives to be disciplined, professional, and committed, the Commandant said:
“You have been carefully selected and will undergo rigorous training to prepare you for the task ahead. I urge you to justify the confidence reposed in you by demonstrating utmost dedication, teamwork, and respect for human rights while protecting lives and property.”
Commandant Brah further reaffirmed the Corps’ readiness to collaborate with other security agencies and relevant stakeholders to maintain peace, safety, and socio-economic stability in Nasarawa State. He called on the personnel to remain proactive, vigilant, and focused in the discharge of their statutory duties, noting that the security and welfare of citizens remain the Corps’ top priority.
The inauguration of the 300 personnel marks another milestone in the Command’s continuous effort to enhance internal security operations and support the government’s drive toward sustainable peace and development in Nasarawa State.
