The Katsina State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has reaffirmed its commitment to closer collaboration with the Nigerian Army’s 17 Brigade in the fight against insecurity across the state.
This was highlighted during a courtesy visit by the State Commandant, AD Moriki (Acting), to the Brigade Commander, Brigadier General BO Omopariola DSS, psc(Gh), psc(+), fdc, on Friday, 3rd October 2025, at the Brigade Headquarters, Natsinta Barracks, Katsina.
Commandant Moriki explained that the visit was aimed at consolidating the existing relationship between the two security agencies and fostering greater synergy in tackling the state’s security challenges.
“I am here on a familiarization tour and to seek your cooperation, collaboration, and continuous synergy in addressing the security challenges confronting Katsina State,” he said.
He also reaffirmed the leadership vision of the NSCDC Commandant General, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, who has consistently emphasized inter-agency collaboration as a key strategy in combating crime nationwide. Commandant Moriki thanked the Army for its sustained partnership in joint operations, intelligence sharing, training, and retraining, while appreciating the warm reception accorded to him and his team.
In his response, Brigadier General Omopariola praised the NSCDC for its role in safeguarding critical national assets and supporting the fight against banditry in Katsina.
“The NSCDC remains a progressive partner in our collective efforts to restore peace in the state,” he noted, pledging continued cooperation and support.
The visit ended with the exchange of souvenirs and a group photograph, symbolizing the renewed commitment of both agencies to stronger ties and joint action in securing Katsina State.
