His Royal Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, the Olu of Warri, paid a courtesy visit to the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) on Wednesday, 17 September 2025. During the visit, the monarch praised the Academy’s remarkable transformation and urged its leadership to maintain the high standards it has achieved.
Accompanied by his chiefs and aides, the Olu was warmly received by the NDA Commandant, Major General AK Ibrahim, OFR. The Commandant provided an overview of the Academy’s history, mission, and its development into a globally respected institution that trains cadets from across Africa and beyond.
As part of a guided tour, the Olu visited the NDA Hall of Fame, where he viewed interactive digital displays showcasing the institution’s rich heritage, including notable figures such as former Ministers of Defence, Service Chiefs, Commandants, and distinguished alumni. He also took time to engage with cadets, advising them to remain disciplined and diligent in their pursuit of excellence.
In his remarks, the Olu expressed appreciation for the dedication of the Academy’s leadership and staff, encouraging them to continue striving for even greater heights. To commemorate the visit, the NDA presented a specially designed plaque to His Royal Majesty.
The visit concluded smoothly and successfully, further strengthening the bond between Nigeria’s traditional institutions and its foremost military training academy.
