The Delta State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Chinedu F. Igbo, paid a courtesy visit to the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonda S. Olufemi, who warmly received him at his office at approximately 12:28 p.m.
Expressing his appreciation for the cordial reception, Commandant Igbo commended CP Abaniwonda for his hospitality and engaging sense of humor. He acknowledged the longstanding synergy between the NSCDC and the Nigeria Police Force, while emphasizing the need for even stronger collaboration between the two agencies.
In his response, CP Abaniwonda welcomed Commandant Igbo to Delta State and urged him to be prepared for the security challenges ahead. He noted that the state is currently grappling with issues such as boundary disputes, delineation problems, and various forms of criminal activity.
The Commissioner called for greater involvement of the NSCDC in joint operations and coordinated “Show of Force” exercises with other sister security agencies, aiming to significantly reduce crime across the state.
CP Abaniwonda concluded by pledging his support for the NSCDC in Delta State, promising to advocate for the Corps’ interests before the state government and other relevant stakeholders.
