The Delta State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Chinedu Fabian Igbo has paid a courtesy visit to the Commander of the Nigerian Army 63 Brigade, Brigadier General Moronfolu Abdulmoshood Shonibare, at his office in Asaba.
During the visit, Commandant Igbo appreciated the Brigade Commander for the warm reception and emphasized the importance of sustained synergy between the NSCDC and the Nigerian Army. He noted that the Corps’ achievements at both the state and national levels were made possible through strong inter-agency collaboration. He further appealed for the Army’s support in safeguarding critical national assets and infrastructure, while also urging the Commander to lend his voice to NSCDC’s inclusion in the Delta State Security Council.
In his response, Brigadier General Shonibare, who also serves as the Sector 1 Commander of Operation Delta Safe in Yenagoa, commended the NSCDC for its efforts, particularly in crude oil protection, which he described as vital to Nigeria’s economic survival. He pledged to strengthen cooperation with the Delta Command and assured that the issue of NSCDC’s membership of the Security Council would be given due consideration. Commandant Igbo, in turn, expressed gratitude for the assurances and reaffirmed his commitment to building stronger synergy with the Army in the interest of Delta State’s security.
