The gesture has been described as a major boost to security operations and community safety within the council area.

The Commandant General of the NSCDC, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, expressed profound appreciation to the Ikosi-Ejirin LCDA administration, the traditional institution, and residents of the area for their support towards strengthening the Corps’ operational capacity through the provision of the new facility.

Representing the Commandant General at the event, the Lagos State Commandant of the NSCDC, Mr. Adedotun Keshinro, stated that the successful completion and handover of the divisional office reflected the confidence reposed in the Corps by both government and traditional institutions.

Keshinro noted that the project underscored a shared commitment to safeguarding lives and property while enhancing security service delivery across the community.

According to him, the newly commissioned office will serve as a strategic base for intelligence gathering, rapid response operations, and effective engagement with residents on security-related matters.

He urged members of the public to see the facility as a symbol of the strong partnership between government, traditional rulers, security agencies, and the community in promoting peace and development.

The Lagos NSCDC boss further assured residents that officers attached to the division would remain professional, proactive, and responsive in addressing emerging security challenges within the area.

Earlier in his remarks, the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejirin LCDA, Hon. Dr. Akogun Wale Anomo, commended the existing synergy among the local government, traditional institutions, and security agencies operating within the council area.

He said the collaboration had significantly strengthened the local security architecture, creating an enabling environment for development and improved socio-economic activities.

Anomo explained that security remains a critical component of his administration’s development agenda, stressing that sustainable progress can only thrive in a peaceful and secure environment.

The council chairman pledged continued support for security agencies and promised to work closely with community leaders and other stakeholders to ensure the safety of residents and the protection of critical assets.

In his address, the Ayandelu of Odo-Ayandelu Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Oba (Builder) Ganiu Aderibigbe Asunmo, JAMADE I, praised the council chairman and members of his administration for their commitment to the successful completion of the project.

Oba Asunmo urged officers and men of the Ikosi-Ejirin Divisional Office to justify the confidence reposed in them by intensifying efforts to combat crime and maintain law and order across the communities under their jurisdiction.
