Troops of the Joint Task Force, Operation Hadin Kai, have neutralised 11 Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists during two separate operations in Borno and Adamawa states.
On September 15, 2025, troops of Sector 3 came under ambush while on patrol along the Baga–Cross Kauwa Main Supply Route in Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State. The soldiers responded with superior firepower, neutralising eight terrorists, including three high-ranking commanders identified as Modu Dogo Munzir, another unnamed Munzir, and Abu Aisha Qaid. Several others escaped with gunshot wounds, abandoning 14 motorcycles, two gun trucks, assorted weapons, blankets, drugs, and other items.
In a separate operation, troops of Sector 1, working with the Civilian Joint Task Force and local hunters, launched an offensive in Umbo, Adamawa State. They neutralised three terrorists and recovered weapons, ammunition, and a mobile phone.
The military confirmed that no casualties were recorded on the side of the troops in both encounters. The High Command commended the soldiers for their resilience and urged residents to continue supporting ongoing counter-terrorism efforts with timely and credible information.
