The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), under the leadership of Commandant EA Ajayi, on Thursday, September 11, 2025, held his maiden strategic meeting with Area Commanders and Divisional Officers at the Sokoto State Command Conference Hall by 14:00 hours.

In his opening remarks, the Commandant expressed gratitude for the warm reception accorded to him and pledged to lead with unity, humility, integrity, and equity while focusing on the mandate of the Corps. He assured officers that his administration would work towards strengthening both administrative and operational frameworks while fostering unity and solidarity across the command.
Ajayi stressed the need for prompt submission of reports, effective interagency collaboration through intelligence sharing, and constant supervision to ensure optimal performance of personnel. He also emphasized the importance of unity of direction in managing officers and men, urging them to remain diligent in carrying out their duties as public servants devoted to humanity.
Addressing strategic concerns, the Commandant issued a stern warning against job racketeering, cautioning that any officer involved in such misconduct would face strict disciplinary measures. He also drew attention to the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure, noting that these must be proactively identified, assessed, and secured. He reiterated his commitment to implementing directives from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) to guarantee their safety.
Ajayi advocated a pragmatic and multidimensional approach to security management, highlighting the need for non-kinetic measures and modern technology such as CCTV devices and microchips. He advised operators and stakeholders of critical facilities to ensure proper illumination of their premises to aid effective monitoring. He further warned that criminals engaged in vandalism, sabotage, or subversion would be decisively dealt with.
The meeting was interactive and motivational, as participants shared ideas and reaffirmed their commitment to achieving the Corps’ objectives. It ended on a successful note.
