The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Sokoto State Command convened a crucial state-level security coordination meeting on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, aimed at enhancing collaboration among security agencies in protecting critical national assets and infrastructure.
Under the directives of the Commandant General of NSCDC, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, the State Commandant, CC, EA Ajayi, chaired the meeting at the NSCDC Sokoto State Command boardroom. The meeting brought together representatives from key security agencies and services operating within the state.
The meeting’s agenda centered on implementing policies issued by the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) regarding the 2024 Critical National Assets and Infrastructure Protection (CNAIP) policy, including the National Protection Policy and Strategy (NPPS).
Key points addressed at the meeting included a briefing on ONSA directives for enforcing the 2024 CNAIP and NPPS; establishing a state-level coordination framework to enhance collaboration among security agencies through interactive platforms; developing a system for timely reporting of CNAIP infractions to the NSCDC within 24 hours; and strengthening joint efforts in documenting and protecting CNAIP-related cases, with effective feedback to arresting agencies.
Representatives from various security organizations participated, including the Commissioner of Police’s representative, State Director of DSS’s representative, Nigerian Army representative, Nigerian Airforce representative, Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Zonal Commander of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Nigeria Immigration Service representative, Nigeria Correctional Service representative, and Nigeria Fire Service representative.
The NSCDC, as the lead agency in this initiative, reaffirmed its dedication to fostering strategic collaboration with all security agencies to safeguard critical national infrastructure across Nigeria.
