The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Gombe State Command, under the leadership of Commandant Jibrin Idris, has held its first State-Level Coordination Meeting with key stakeholders on the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI).
The meeting followed directives from the Commandant General, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, and resolutions from the Office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) on August 21, 2025, aimed at strengthening collaboration for the safeguarding of vital national assets.
The discussions focused on fostering synergy among stakeholders, establishing effective intelligence-sharing frameworks, creating rapid response mechanisms, and ensuring NSCDC is notified within 24 hours of any CNAI-related arrests.
Stakeholders in attendance included representatives from the Nigeria Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Nigerian National Petroleum Company/Nigerian Petroleum Supply Company (NNPC/NPSC), Jos Electricity Distribution Company (JED), National Orientation Agency (NOA), National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), MTN, and the academic community.
Commandant Jibrin Idris reaffirmed NSCDC’s commitment to its core mandate, stressing the importance of multi-stakeholder collaboration. He noted recent engagements with other security agencies in the state and announced plans for public awareness campaigns and joint protection strategies to enhance CNAI security.
