Olumode Rejects Reception In His Honour, Redirects Funds To Firefighters

The Controller General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), Samuel Adeyemi Olumode, has declined plans for a reception in his honour, instead directing that the funds be used to support the welfare of officers and men of the Service.

The announcement was made on Wednesday in Abuja during a courtesy visit to the Service headquarters by a support group, Friends of the Controller General, led by Captain Aliyu Hammed, Chief Executive Officer of Pyatric Group Limited.

In a statement signed by the National PRO and Head of Corporate Services, DCF P.O. Abraham, the Service commended the group for their generosity, stressing that such partnerships would greatly enhance officers’ welfare, capacity building, and service delivery.

Olumode, who assumed office on 14 August 2025, expressed appreciation for the goodwill but urged that the gesture be redirected to address the pressing needs of firefighters nationwide.
