The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps on Monday paraded two over vandalisation of electric cables, and three others for alleged rape
Parading the suspects including 18-year-old Salisu and Mohammed Babayo aged 18 years, the Commandant Jibrin Idris, who was represented by Public Relations Officer SC Buhari Saad, decried the impact of cable theft on electricity consumers, saying that the command would do all within its powers to protect critical asset.
Idris said, “Those who vandalised cables are Salisu Muhammed 18 years of Idi quarters and mohammed Dahiru Babayo, 18 years of Unguwan Dawaki, Gombe.
“We will continue to protect critical infrastructure but we need the support of the public through provision of credible information.”
The Commandant also paraded three others over suspected rape of minors, 13 and 14 years, urging for vigilance as the command prosecutes offenders.
“While three people where caught for rape; they are Bala Suleiman 72 years of Herwagana who raped a 14 years girl in his car. Ibrahim Haruna 48 years of Jekadefari and his 15 years old son raped a 13-year-old girl in his shop, while his son does same at home,” Idris disclosed.
