The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Sokoto State Command held its first management meeting under the leadership of the newly appointed Commandant, CC, EA Ajayi, on Tuesday, 2nd September 2025, at the Command’s boardroom.
Commandant Ajayi began the session by expressing his gratitude for the warm welcome he has received since assuming office. He pledged to lead with humility, integrity, and fairness, while focusing steadfastly on fulfilling the Corps’ mandate.
In his address, the Commandant underscored his commitment to fostering discipline, unity, and solidarity among all officers and men. He also highlighted the importance of harnessing innovative ideas to strengthen both the administrative and operational capabilities of the Sokoto State Command.
A key priority for the new leadership, he explained, is the development of a strategic blueprint aimed at tackling the growing security challenges within the state. This initiative seeks to enhance the operational structure of the Corps to ensure a more effective response to insecurity.
The Commandant further emphasized the need for a pragmatic overhaul of investigative procedures, particularly in cases involving Gender-Based Violence (GBV). He advocated for the integration of forensic best practices to improve the quality and confidentiality of investigations. In addition, he called for a more streamlined approach to case profiling to enhance performance and accountability.
Highlighting discipline, Commandant Ajayi reminded all officers, especially those authorized to bear firearms, of their responsibility to comply strictly with extant laws and lawful orders.
He also directed all Heads of Departments and Units to submit their Quarterly Performance Evaluation Reports covering June to August 2025 to facilitate thorough assessment and ensure continuous improvement.
This maiden meeting under Commandant Ajayi’s leadership marks a significant step towards a renewed philosophy of coordination, cooperation, and service excellence aimed at achieving the Corps’ objectives in Sokoto State.
